Here are a few pics of what’s going on in my garden. I’m not thrilled with my dirt, but I will be patient and see what happens. I’ll also add some kind of fertilizer juice to help with the lack of nutrients this year. Once again, I am completely amazed at what happens when you plant a little itty bitty seed, I’ll never get over it.
The garden looks great! So happy to hear that you are back in PHX and blogging again. Welcome back!
Wow! This is looking really good!
Just found this site > I am starting a container garden in La Paz BCS Mexico . I am starting with desert soil removed from a dry wash about 10 miles from shore as the soil where I live about a 14 mile and 5 feet in elevation from the Sea is very hevey in Salts . Our weather here is very similar to Pheonix allthough the lows are never below 50 F … 2 to 4 inches of rain per year . Looking for vegetable sujestions and fertilizers . Thanks for your site Billy
Do you have access to manure from cows, rabbits, chickens, goats or horses? That is a great way to start a garden, just by adding manure to the soil. Start a compost bin and use that to mix into the soil later on. Fall vegetables to plant in zone 9 are lettuce, parsley, dill, kale, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, swiss chard, spinach, onions, carrots, beets, and snap peas and some people plant tomatoes, eggplants, or peppers, but I usually plant those in the spring.
Hope that helps.
Your soil looks pretty good. That used to be farm land.
