I am really late on getting my seeds planted this year… that’s really nothing new for me.  I’m a garden procrastinator…oh wait, no, I’m a procrastinator, period.  It’s something I’m working on, sort of, when I have time.  🙂

So anyway, here are some photos of what’s going on in my backyard right now.

This is my oldest garden plot, 4 1/2 years old, along my west wall of my backyard.  It’s 17 ft. x 5 ft.

I’ve got some Red Creole onions growing in here…

Three kinds of beets, Golden, Chioggia, and Detroit Dark Red…

Over here is also 3 different kinds of lettuce, parsley and cilantro that haven’t come up yet…come on high 70’s!

In my new eastside garden plot, (woohoo, I’m so excited, it’s taken all summer to slowly clear , thanks to my hardworking boys) there is a plethora of baby plants.  It’s 18 ft x 5 ft.

First, we have kale…

Cauliflower…

Spinich, I think…

Broccoli…

more Golden beets…

Carrots…there’s also some Swiss Chard, Chinese Cabbage and Leeks in there, but I don’t have pictures of those.

The next garden plot, which I dug up about a year ago, is right beside my patio and it measures 6 ft. x 5 ft.  Eggplants and peppers are here for now.

Listadia de Gandia Eggplants…

Little miniature Ancho peppers…

Yellow Bell Peppers

Jalapenos

It amazes me how much room you can find to plant a garden on a regular 1/8 of an acre city lot with 5 children! This winter, I’m aiming to turn all along my south backyard wall into a garden, which would be the size of both my east and west gardens put together.  Shhh, don’t tell my husband, he thinks I’m crazy!  Money making opportunity awaits, boys!
