I thought I would explain to y’all why I have created a tomato “jungle”.  It looks like I have planted them too close together, but in all actuality, I have found that planting them this close, 18″-2 feet, together makes them thrive better as it gets hotter.  The coverage that the tomatoes get from the “jungle” foliage helps to protect them from the sun during the end of May and June. It even keeps it a little cooler and humid underneath.

The downside is that you have to crawl through the “jungle” to pick them, but that’s what my kids are for.  🙂  I’m just kidding, I have been known to crawl through as well.  I say that the big bowls of wonderful tasting tomatoes are worth the crawl, though.  🙂
